Rain Rain

Here the weather has been dismal at best. I have been complaining about 500 times every day about the rainy, dreary, wet, cold cold weather. It's spring. Shouldn't it be 95 degrees? We just finished with Spring Break for the boys (two days) and it was terrible. No, the boys weren't bad, the weather was. Surprise. We were going to go and do fun things but we were sick of being outside and didn't even want to venture out so we played games on the computer. Rock climbing will have to wait, as will going to the Copper Mine. I really think I would like Arizona with the hot dry weather but Shawn doesn't agree. So we are stuck here in what is supposed to be a desert but is more like rainy dreary Washington.
As to what we have been up to...
Cameron is currently working on getting his homework turned in on time. He has had some issues with getting it done, and then remembering to turn it in. We are helping him with some organizational skills (he is not super excited about this) so he can get into some good habits. As to understanding the stuff--Cameron doesn't have any problems with brains. He has achieved his Arrow of Light and will "cross the bridge" this week into eleven year old scouts. I'm excited for him and he is really happy to have met a goal. Cameron is still giving me the 10 year old attitude (in a few months it will be the 11 year old attitude). I'm trying to get through this trial with him. Funny how the attitude filters down through the other kids. (This way I can blame my horrendous attitude when I was 10 on Chris because of the trickle down effect right?)
Kimball is still plugging along in school. We go over early American history a few times a week, math daily, cursive daily (now there's a fun one Kimball doesn't enjoy), some human body work (we had to go over the function of the kidneys and the urinary system to set him straight on a few things he liked to giggle about). Spelling isn't a high priority but we are focusing extensively on reading comprehension. This has been where his problem lies really. And I have told him the difference between reading quickly and reading fluently. They aren't the same thing. I am not concerned about how fast he is reading but if he is reading to understand. Sometimes I get tired of saying the same things over and over but overall, I really enjoy homeschooling Kimball.
Trenton is reading. Not quickly or fluently quite yet but progressing well. He likes school but would like to be homeschooled (ha ha we'll see). He is a great helper for the computer with Sam. And FINALLY his other front tooth is coming in! Trent is growing like a weed-same size shoes as Kimball and same size clothes.
Sam. I could spend blogs on this child. Isn't that always how it is with the last though? He loves to play the computer but of course can't read so he can't get on his favorite websites. Thus, I'm going over every twenty minutes or so and changing sites for him. He rotates from webkinz to pbskids to wizard 101 and so on. Sam likes to play what the older kids are playing. He has lost his first tooth (at age 4!) and the other one on the bottom is on it's way out. We are waiting for nice weather so he can ride his bike and scooter more often.
I'm anxiously awaiting the nice hot weather so I can take the dogs outside on walks without bundling myself in hat, gloves, two layers of all clothes and waterproof shoes. Anyway we have discovered Skype and have already done my time talking to my bro Steve for the year. I look forward to having my parents talk to my kids and to be able to video conference. Woo hoo. Now it's bedtime, not only for me,but for the boys too. School tomorrow and back to the routine.
